The first of the 4C’s is Carat. Generally speaking, the larger the carat weight the higher the price of the stone. Carat makes expressing diamond weight easier as compared to milligrams and is slightly less specific.

Clarity

THE BIRTHMARKS OF A STONE

Clarity evaluates the physical makeup of a diamond, including the blemishes and inclusions. Even lab grown diamonds are not free from having distinct physical birthmarks- this is just one of the things that makes your diamond distinctly yours.

Cut

THE PROPORTIONS OF A STONE

It is a common misconception that a diamond’s Cut refers to the shape of the diamond. When jewelers use the word cut, they are referring to the reflective qualities of the diamond.

Color

THE TINT OF A STONE

 When a jeweler talks about a diamonds color, they are referring to the absence or presence of color in a diamond. Color in a diamond is the result of a its composition and does not change with time. Colorless diamonds are typically more valuable.
